Group Study Exchange - India's District 3120 in Uttar Pradesh

Team Leader:

David Stevens, a Paul Harris Fellow, hs served as president in both the Sioux Falls Downtown Rotary Club (1996-1997) and the Mitchell Rotary Club (2009-2010).  Over the years he has hosted GSE Team Members and Youth Exchange Students while they visit the District.  Dave currently works as the Executive Director of the Mitchell United Way.  Active in his church aq a frequent golfer, bicycler, and tennis player, Dave also makes time to officiate high school football and basketball.

District 5610 Rotary (South Dakota, southwest Minnesota, western Iowa, and northeast Nebraska) is pleased to announce members of the Group Study Exchange team that will travel to Uttar Pradesh in northern India in January 2011.  These individuals, selected from applicants from across the region, represent four South Dakota communities. 

 Jennifer Abels of Sioux Falls works as SALSA (Service and Learn Student Association) Coordinator and database specialist at the HELP! Line Center.  She received a BA in Social Work from Marquette University and a Masters in Counseling from Adams State College, CO. 

Jason Lambert, Rapid City, is a civil engineer specializing in watershed modeling.  An employee of RESPEC since 2007, Jason is a graduate of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.   

Tom Lehmkuhl, Pierre, is an environmental engineer employed by the South Dakota Department of Transportation.  Tom is a graduate of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.  In addition to his work for the State of South Dakota, he teaches martial arts. 

Amanda Kille, Lead, is senior graphic designer for TDG Communications, Inc. in Deadwood.  Amanda graduated from Black Hills State University with majors in mass communications and commercial art. 

Laura Shattuck, Assistant to the Pennington County Public Defender in Rapid City, SD, and Marc Mebius, owner of Warner’s Nursery in Mitchell, SD, have agreed to serve as alternates should one of the team members be unable to go on the exchange.
