Even before Nancy became a member of Rotary, she was active with the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. She became involved for two reasons: the first was that both of her daughters were Rotary Exchange Students and the second was that her husband, Roger, became involved in the process when their second daughter participated in the Youth Exchange. Several years after her husband started working with the program, she decided to get in on the fun as well. Consequently, she was soon working with the outbound student interview process and the inbound orientation sessions. Besides working with the program, she and her husband have hosted a number of exchange students.
Nancy Moose has been teaching at DSU since 1981. Dr. Moose developed the Academic Skills program and is currently teaching English and English Education courses. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in English from SDSU and her Ed.D. in Adult and Higher Education from USD. Her husband, Roger, is employed at Citibank South Dakota. They have three children: Justin, a 1998 DSU graduate; Gina, a 1999 SDSU graduate (Gina spent a year in France), and Jonalee a 2000 SDSU graduate (Jonalee spent a year in Argentina). They also raised a niece and nephew: Larry, who is living and working in Kansas City, and Jenny, who currently lives in Madison. Cody, Gillian, Natalie, Mikaylee, and Daniel are their five grandchildren, with whom Nancy enjoys spending a great deal of time. Besides her work at DSU, Nancy is active in a number of church and professional organizations in addition to Rotary. Her hobbies include walking, reading, water skiing, downhill skiing, and bicycle riding.
