Jim joined Rotary in 1971 and was the president of the Luverne Rotary Club 1975-1976.  Currently, Jim serves as the sergeant-at-arms of his club.  He served on the District 5610 Rotary Youth Exchange Committee for several years and was its chair for two or three years.  He was the curriculum and middle school principal in the Luverne, Minnesota public school for 22 years (1971 – 1993).  He has been retired and teaching Defensive Driving to senior citizens for 15 years.
