In celebration of Earth Day, the Marshall Sunrise Rotary Club teamed up with the City of Marshall for a special community project aimed at enhancing local green space. Together, they planted six trees—each of a different variety—at Allegiance Park, symbolizing growth, environmental stewardship, and the power of partnership.

Sunrise Rotary Club President Dave Haen proudly presented a check to Mayor Bob Byrnes and Parks and Recreation Superintendent Preston Stensrud, covering the full cost of the new trees. The initiative not only added beauty and shade to the park but also underscored the club’s commitment to sustainability and service above self.

“This is a great example of how community collaboration can lead to lasting impact,” said Haen. “We’re proud to support the City of Marshall and contribute to a greener future.”

The tree planting served as a meaningful way to mark Earth Day while investing in the health and vibrancy of the local community for generations to come.
