A Rotary Global Grant project in Whiteclay, Nebraska — supported by our District — has been recognized with the 2025 Heritage Award from the Nebraska Arts Council. This prestigious honor celebrates the project’s outstanding impact on preserving and revitalizing Native American culture through art, education, and community engagement. Watch the video.

Rotarians Ina Winter, Linda Peterson, Jim Huff, Mikaela Leners, and Kibbe Brown recently visited the facility to conduct a grant sustainability check. During their visit, they were delighted to see the building bustling with activity — community members coming and going, a sewing class in session, and the aromas of a delicious Indian taco lunch filling the air.

The energy and engagement witnessed that day reflect the lasting success of this global grant and the continued dedication of Rotarians to empowering communities through sustainable service. The recognition from the Nebraska Arts Council is a testament to what Rotary can achieve through collaboration, vision, and compassion.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this project a success — the future looks bright for Whiteclay!
