Rushmore Rotarians came out in force for a Rapid Creek cleanup near East Boulevard, joining a collaborative effort sponsored by the Black Hills Flyfishers and Breadroot. Volunteers from the Rushmore Rotary Club worked alongside members of the Rapid City Rotary Club, the Flyfishers, other local organizations, and community individuals to help protect and preserve one of the area’s vital waterways. Together, they removed debris and made a visible impact on the health of Rapid Creek.
While this project was a local community effort, it reflects Rotary’s broader commitment to protecting water resources. Both Rotary Clubs are participating in the Unite for Water initiative—a larger, coordinated effort across five states and five Rotary districts focused on improving access to safe drinking water and sanitation.
By engaging in hands-on service projects like this cleanup, Rotarians are not only caring for their local environment but also contributing to a global movement to address one of the world’s most urgent needs.
